I convinced my homebodies to go up to Snoqualmie Pass on Sunday. There was very little snow at the Nordic Center (which was shockingly open) but across the street the Iron something or other trail had a nice coating of snow. And Luke and Randy found two igloos which they of course crawled inside. Very cool! We purchased the ski poles for Luke at a local kids sports consignment shop for $2!! He thinks they are so cool. We ended up buying the cool red sled at REI because it was on clearance and we still had dividend left from last year. Those little yellow handles on the side are brakes and it's so funny when he yanks 'em down while Randy is pulling him :)We also got Luke a pair of cross country skis, never used, at the consignment shop for $5. He may not use them this year but I would love to get him in lessons next year. We decided cross country would be a better fit since he is not a dare devil, doesn't like hills and it's waaaaay less expensive then downhill. He skis free at the Snoqualmie Nordic Center until he's 7. Nordic season passes are only $99 compared to $439 for an Alpine season's pass.
