Pics and Updates

Luke isn't interested in learning to sound out words, but he loves to make signs and lists and is constantly asking how to spell words. Seems best to focus on what he wants to learn.

Our cabinet maker finished installing the right side of the bookcases on the fireplace. Here it is minus the finished top. After he is done with installation it will be stained in place. Then we can FINALLY tile the fireplace. So looking forward to having the wonderboard covered with something pretty. We had to cut open the walls to the left of the fireplace to move some outlets and place some backing for the tv mount. The bookcase will cover them but still a bit frustrating. We had placed backing in the wall but not high enough and we had placed the outlets as best we could but they weren't high enough either. Oh well.

All these poor Lego men lined up waiting to see the doctor, who in this case happens to be Luke Skywalker. The last guy in line has no legs but one cool wheelchair. Luke ended up attaching the bucket from his bucket truck to the top of this doctor's office and placed the legless man inside with a pair of binoculars so he could be on the lookout for some new legs. And yes, that is a lava lamp in the background.

Yesterday Randy and Luke placed two of the biggest garden beds in the front yard. The tomatoes are planted and coming up nicely on the kitchen table. I try not to meddle too much but am eager to see starts for so much more. Organic veggies are sooooo expensive in the grocery store. We need to work on storing more over the winter so we don't have to buy as much. We try to eat mostly seasonally but it gets old really quick in the winter.
