Deception Pass Camping/Triathlon

On Friday we packed up and drove out of the beautiful Tacoma weather into the overcast, chilly and drizzly weather of Deception Pass.  Randy had a triathlon Saturday morning at 8am so we decided to go up on Friday night and camp.  Thursday night we decided to not only bring Gracie but to also bring cousin Adyson.  Whew!  Our tiny little car was packed to the ceiling with gear, food and bodies.  It was all totally worth it.  Randy had fun (probably not the right word :), competing in his first triathlon and we all had a lot of fun camping.  The weather started to look promising at lunchtime on Saturday so we headed out to hike the run Randy had just completed.  Yes I said HIKE the RUN course.  It tooks us hours.  I am so proud and amazed that after swimming and biking he was able to run such a steep course.  The rain worsened as we hiked and didn't look like it was going to let up anytime soon so we stuffed the tent in the car and headed for home when we got back.  I will post pics later of our adventure, some are on the camera, a few on the the phone.  The best pictures will come from the high school that spread out on the tri course and took pics of all the racers.  There are several of Randy and a few of Luke too (he ran across the finish line with Randy).
